Crow Reviews is the review section of Full of Crow, with reviews of independent publications and chapbooks. We do post submitted guest reviews so please contact us with your submissions,questions, feedback, requests, or for more information.

We review publications from independent, small press publishers as well as self published chapbooks and zines. (also see zine reviews section) We will consider many different formats, as long as it is a “work” or a “collection”. We are not currently reviewing works “in progress”, short stories, work that is only part of a larger anthology. Collections with multiple authors are appropriate when the review is on the work as a whole, but asking us to review only a part of a larger volume is not in keeping with our review guidelines.

For Authors:

*We accept review requests from authors and publishers. (see below if you are new to reviews)
*We will not write reviews or blurbs about books we haven’t read.
*Please use our contacts page to request reviews, blurbs, quotes, etc. from specific editors at Full of Crow. Honoring such requests are at the discretion of individuals. Please correspond directly.
*Unless you make other arrangements (such as with a specific editor) please use the Full Of Crow address for materials.
*We cannot honor every request, but we will do our best to be a resource for authors and cover as much as we can.
*Our reviews are not intended to be a thumbs up or down, or to heap praise. They are meant to be an exploration of the work or a particular aspect, we want to engage with the work and talk about what an author is trying to do. We want to give our impressions, our thoughts. We want to go beyond saying we like it.
*We can include a link, purchase details, cover image, and other information if provided.
*Please, if applicable, give the publisher, cover or other art credit, year.

*Unsolicited work can be sent but please attach a cover letter stating that the book is for Crow Reviews.
