Ward Stories: Submissions Wanted. Fiction and Art.
Some might recall discussion at The Sphere last year about an anthology concept with the theme of mental illness, and this idea has been officially resurrected.
Ward Stories #1 will be presented as an anthology eBook at Full Of Crow, in the ebooks section.
It will be a collection of stories and art related thematically to mental illness, psychiatry, institutionalization, asylums, mental health, assisted living, day programs, symptoms, and more.
Stories can be inspired by any aspects of mental health, from any perspective. Stories should be fictionalized, meaning they should not contain identifying or personal elements or violate privacy or dignity.
Please interpret the theme broadly, from your perspective and without reliance on stereotypes and overused psychiatric cliches.
Deadline for this collection: September 1, 2010. Anticipated Publication: October 2010.
Photography and Art Specs: Feel free to inquire. High resolution images preferred in black and white. Ink, line drawings. Most file types acceptable but please do not send art in Microsoft Word Doc files.
Fiction: Length is flexible but within “short story” parameters. Flash, nano, micro, etc. all fine. Please send in the body of an email or as an attached file to Lynn Alexander:
